Homeless Outreach Program

The Homeless Outreach Program provides free legal assistance for homeless, or those at-risk of becoming homeless, on legal issues, including:
  • access to housing, employment, income support, counselling, referrals to other social services
  • assistance obtaining photo identification and information regarding birth certificate and SIN cards
  • assistance with the housing issues leading to homelessness
  • direct team support from a lawyer and a social advocate

Identification

The HOP program assists hundreds every year with accessing identification and cards of entitlement such as Canadian Birth Certificates, Alberta Health Care cards, and Social Insurance cards.

We run affidavit ID clinics at the Salvation Army twice a month and once a month at our office on a drop-in basis. Please refer below for specifics on location and times of affidavit ID clinics. Please note that date are subject to change.
