Do Your Own Divorce
Clinics The Do Your Own Divorce Clinics are a service offered to CLG clients who come to the evening clinics looking for information about the divorce process but cannot afford a lawyer. This clinic assists clients in completing uncontested divorces only. If the parties have been separated for more than one year, and if there is an agreement as to property division and child custody and access, low-income clients are able to complete an uncontested divorce themselves for under $300.00. We bring eight to ten clients together for an evening session with a family law practitioner and walk them through the divorce process with a complete set of draft divorce forms. The clients then go home with a copy of the CLG ‘how-to’ manual to complete the good copy of the forms themselves. Our staff remains available to answer questions as the clients go through the process. |
